Linda Yang's book on container gardening in her own Manhattan garden gives container gardeners across the country valuable advice on how to do most everything connected with gardening in containers. From ground cover to trees, she discusses micro-climates, root pruning, how to drag bags of dirt and mulch into an elevator for condo/apartment living. She suggests appropriate plants for various situations.

A valuable resource I wouldn't be without.

This book is a FABULOUS introduction to general gardening as well as an encouragement to all of us trying to garden in small spaces in the city. Linda has a great sense of humor and you can read the book straight through - you will especially laugh while reading her first edition (may only be available used) called The Terrace Gardener's Handbook. She has great information on preparing soil and what to do to maintain your garden through all the seasons as well as advice on particular plants, bulbs, etc- LOVE IT!!
