A good basic guide to preserving small amounts of food in various ways. Canning, freezing and drying are discussed and various time-saving tips are offered such as combining frozen vegetables in family sized portions for soup mixes.

There is even a section on 'What went wrong' so that novices can learn from mistakes and correct them

It isn't as detailed as the Ball Blue Book, but it gives good advice for safe food handling for busy people who cannot devote whole days to preserving harvest.
