This is a wonderful little book for anyone trying to grow anything in hot, humid Louisiana. While not many plants are covered, only 182, the sections cover annuals, bulbs, ground covers, ferns, ornamental & turf grasses, palms, perennials, vines, roses, shrubs, trees, tropicals, and wildflowers. The information makes suggestions for both North and South Louisiana.

Dan Gill is a horticulturist with the LSU AgCenter. Before moving to Baton Rouge to take on statewide responsibilities, he was headquartered in New Orleans. While there, he became established as a reliable source of helpful, useful advice on lawn and garden topics through his media work. He is well known throughout the state for giving friendly, helpful advice for gardening in our sometimes difficult climate.
