Something has happened to this business, and it's not good. I ordered from it for years and got big healthy plants in early April that bloomed from May to October. For the past three years, I have gotten plants that have few roots, are much smaller (but same price as previously), and that sometimes do not bloom at all. The lilies that arrived last week at my place in North Louisiana are ridiculous. Service is good: lilies arrive as promised and are packaged properly. The product is just third-rate. A waste. I complained, to no purpose.
We bought 2 tropical water lilies from them last year. Both rhizomes were the size of a walnut at best. We were shocked that we paid that kind of money for rhizomes that small. (total cost about $50+) We figured if we babied them the entire summer we could make something of them. Neither of them grew or survived. Very disappointed.

I have purchased many times from TWL,and on the mostly part have been very satisfied with there products,But I must be fair, about what I just received in today's mail from them ,the lotus tubers were very small, and the hardy water lilies were tiny,I don't know how they every separated them from there mommy. My order was not a huge order,6 plants for $160,00,nut the box they came in was light,You'd thought the box was empty, seriously I have better buys from e-bay,so what I'm saying is you might what to reconsider buying from them, because there is definitely alternative sources with much better products in the market.
I found TWL while surfing the web for waterlilies about six years ago. They have excellent prices and better still fantastic plants. I've ordered from them ever since my first order. Fast deliveries and good customer service. What more could you want.

I ordered 2 night bloomers from this company, since our winter went way to long I had requested that the plants be sent later, well they sent them too early and they did not do well. The company is awesome they reshipped, no questions asked. The lilies came with healthy root system, large leaves and healthy early buds and no algae, they are currently prolific bloomers in my pond. I love this company. You can't beat the prices and it is a small company and their customer service rocks
I ordered 3 hardy water lilies on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago and they arrived Tuesday!
They were a very good price (not quite half of what some other companies are charging); had big rootstocks with full-sized leaves; arrived in great condition; AND best of all, there was no string algae or other nasties (I now have duckweed and azola courtesy of William Tricker!!!).
The Colorado bloomed the next day. I also ordered Texas Dawn and Mayla; they haven't yet bloomed, but they are leafing out like crazy.
I wish every online purchase went this smoothly and resulted in this much satisfaction! I am going to place another order with them tomorrow!

Bought 3 lotus tubers from them in the end of March and the beginning of April, very happy with the quality. However one does not grow, growing tips just turned mushy, no roots, nothing. The Texaswaterliilies are sending a replacement.
I am quite happy with these people, appreciate all their help in a timely manner.
Ordered an Emerald Daybreak lotus from TWL a month or so ago. I had a lotus a few years ago from another company, which did not live, but not due to there be anything wrong with the root, but rather my not locating it correctly. That said, the one from TWL was far larger and impressive. It is already making great growth in its new home. And, I've just realized they have a lot of other really cool plants....

They seem to ship wherever, whenever even if you zone is still too cold for tropicals. Makes sense since some people have greenhouses. Just be aware in case you live in the great white north, otherwise you will be scrambling to figure out what to do with these gorgeous plants.
Plants received were in good shape, received in a timely manner. One was extra large with multiple blooms. Every thing healthy and doing fine. I will order from them again.
Thank you Texas Water Lillies! I ordered three lillies on Tuesday, and my package arrived on Thursday. All the lillies were healthy and they look great. In addition, they suprised me by adding a fourth lilly plant to my order marked "Tina - free". And Tina was one of the lillies on my list that I marked down for future buy (how did TWL know that...wow! I'm delighted with Texas Water Lillies! Thank you again!

Overall they are very good. I have ordered from them 3 times for a total of about 20 plants and they came in a timely fashion and were packaged well. Shipping cost is reasonable, especially given that most places charge an arm and a leg to Hawaii. There was a mistake in the order (a plant was missing, and one was the wrong plant) and corrections were promptly made. They have excellent customer service and do their absolute best to ensure that you are happy. Will purchase from them again. Hope that they will add more water lily varieties.

Top ratings for this company are well deserved. I ordered water lilies, and received beautiful, healthy plants, well packaged and shipped to arrive quickly. The price to quality ratio is tops. I will order again from this company.

I have been buying from this out fit for about three years. They are absolutely great! I get wonderful lilies, and the water plants are in big bunches and very healthy. Prices are wonderful and the shipping is way wonderful. I live where vendors by mail use postage as another profit center, so when a vendor treats his customers as individuals and with honesty, I am a dedicated customer.
I received my water lily, Pamela, and "she" is everything I hoped she would be and more. I just got her in the last several days and planted her per your instructions. I already have two new pads emerging and a flower is trying to open. I think it will open up by tomorrow and the blue color is just stunning. I was also very impressed how the water lily was shipped!! I will definitely do business with you again and thanks so much.

We received an order from you this morning and had to let you know how pleased we were with the condition and overall quality of your product. Having been in the nursery business for many years until health issues forced us to step back, we can appreciate when someone is doing a really good job.
We look forward to doing more business with you and will be happy to pass your name along.

I have placed an order every year for the past 3 years and each time the plants were delivered on time (lotus early the rest later for my zone) and healthy with many, MANY growing tips. One year my new puppy kept eating my lotus tubers and ruined them all and I casually mentioned it to Dusty wanting to know why my puppy was so attracted to risk getting hurt by climbing in this fenced in area and Dusty surprised me and sent me some free lotus tubers out of the blue, unexpectedly to replace the tubers my puppy devoured. What a nice surprise. "They had me as a lifetime customer after that . . ."
Great plants for very competitive prices and great people to work with!
Once again I have had a very positive experience with Dusty and Jessie at TX Water Lilies. They are the nicest people to deal with and their plants are always tops. When I was unhappy with one plant my money was promptly refunded, no questions asked. This is the kind of business I like supporting and I will buy plants from them again.

After a long telephone conversation about selecting the right water lily for a small, hot Louisiana pond, I placed an order online. That was a Monday morning. Wednesday I received my water lily. It even had a bloom on it!! How's that for fast service.

After a slow start, TWC sent me two beautiful healthy water lily pants. One of these was a freebie for the slowness in processing my original order.
Though my first email to them was overly harsh, for this I apologize, they were still gracious and compensated me with the free plant.
I ordered from TWL through a special in the classifieds, here on DG. Most everything I ordered was tropical, so they were gracious to hold my order until time was safe. I received my lilies and lotus in excellent condition. All were wet and huge specimens. Within 2 days, 2 of the water lilies bloomed and another had 3 buds on it. I'd like to say that you can't find better prices for what you get from these people. I look forward to buying from them again and again.

I ordered some hardy water lilies and various marginals last summer. texaswaterlilies.com had good ratings and seemed to have some of the most reasonable prices around. Even though the website wasn't the most comprehensive, there was enough information to do some research on the plants, and I placed my order. I had never ordered water plants online before, so had no idea to expect, and to be honest was a little shocked when I got gallon-size baggies of... something. But, I had been warned that water plants don't look like much when they're out of water, so off I went to plant away.
Within a month or two, I had water lily blooms up the wahoo and the marginals were taking over. Everything has overwintered just fine and is starting to take off again here in San Diego. I would definitely order from here again -- if I find some more space in my pond :-)
We ordered 7 different water lilies, plus irisies & cattails. All specimens arrived in great condition, well sealed bags, and in 3 days after order was shipped. Rhizomes all had stems/leaves, and some lilies had flowers.
We planted the lilies in 3 1/2 to 4 feet of 65-70 degree water in Colorado, and had pads on the surface within 3 days. We are extremely pleased and would not hesitate to order from them again. Superior value to all competitors on the net.

Placed an order one day and received it just a few days
later. Very prompt shipping.
This is a really great company! I placed my order on Friday, it was shipped on Monday, & I received it today (Wednesday). The plants are HUGE and very healthy. The water lilies are filled with flower buds. The taro are very well developed. The prices were great! And the customer service is awesome. There is no way this transaction could have been any better. I will definitely be ordering from Texas Water Lilies again!

Great stock and well packed, with extras. Actually they delivered late and the order had to stay in a shipping warehouse over the week-end. It still was packed well enough that it survived the whole week in transit without a loss.
I recieved fantastic service! My mother got her "Mother's Day gift" Thursday after I ordered the plants Monday afternoon. The turn around time on my order was extremely fast! She was quite pleased with the plants. She loved that the Tina Lily had several buds on it. She told me the quality and quantity of the plants were exceptional! She received a few extra plants of the lillies I ordered and an additional plant of the Burgandy Princess as a bonus. I will be buying from you again and referring you to others! Thanks again!

Received my order quickly and accurately. The owners were friendly and responsive to e-mails. I was very pleased with the size of the plants, and they looked very clean and healthy, and were packed well. I have ordered and received many lilies from various sources, and am very well pleased with Texas Waterlilies. And the prices are awesome. Thanks guys!
Texas Water Lilies was a thoughtful partner and a tremendous help when I needed information and lilies for our high school's water garden. The lilies were a good size and healthy; they even had branching, some with up to two feet of growth already started. One water lily named Lemon Mist had a solf yellow bud which was so beautiful my students were ready to plant immediately. Thank you very much does not begin to cover the generosity and expertise we were offered.

I have very seldom ordered online for anything but after seeing all of the positive feedback I took a chance on Texas Waterlilies. It took about two weeks for the order to be filled, but what an order I received. I ordered 3 marginals, 3 lotus, 3 hardy lilies and 3 tropical lilies. They came to me in great shape and several had flower buds on them. Two of the lotus seemed to have multiple growing tips and were very healthy and fat. The only concern that I had was that the water clover I ordered was not pictured correctly on the website and I got one that I really did not want instead of the one I thought I was ordering. I called the company and had a very pleasant conversation with the person working there and they are sending me the one that I wanted free of charge! I would definately order from them again.

I emailed ahead of ordering, to ask for recommendations. I received a prompt reply, placed my order, and was very pleased when it arrived. One of the plants already had a flower bud, the rest were in great shape, good sized, and have settled in nicely. This was a small order and I was very pleased with the service. On June 22nd, 2007, kaperc added the following:
6/22/07 Rec'd our second order this spring and we are very pleased with the plants, shipping, packaging, etc. These were tropical waterlilies and all were big and healthy, with buds. One of them bloomed the next morning. Will definitely order from them again.

I ordered seed pods for the Momo Botan Lotus and they very kindly and generously added a small root/tuber cutting as well. Which was very nice. I was to get 2 seed pods for very reasonable, but instead received 4 pods. It looks like I may have at least 13 seeds that might possibly germinate. I know that Lotus plants do not come true to the mother plant from seed. So I do not know what the seedlings will germinate as, but that was what I ordered and look forward to growing them for the mystery and surprise!
I experienced great service, low prices, and generous amount of seeds w/free tuber root. I hope that my tight budget will allow me to order from them again in the future. I was very impressed with their great prices, communication, service, and quick shipping!
I am a satisfied customer! On July 3rd, 2007, beckygardener added the following:
I ordered 4 water lilies from a DG coop and was VERY pleased! The prices were awesome (wholesale) and the plants were nice sized and mine even had blooms on them! They arrived within just a couple of days and it was a very smooth transaction! Thanks to Jessie and Dusty for such great service and plants!!!
The folks at Dave's garden gave me so much information on my existing Lotus Water Plants that I was amazed that they took the time and told me how to winterize the plants and how to start tubers from the seedlings in the pods. I also ordered some Tubers at the wrong time, they quickly informed me that in the New Jersey climate would not be a good time to plant these tubers. They offered to refund my money or to put me at the top of the list for a Februrary or March delivery,
To me, that means these folks are honest and work wth integrity. I ill continue to shop there for al of my water garden needs.
Great plants, Dusty was a gem. Only problem was with the planter. Very hard to get the plants to stay in the ground under tha water. Next order I'll have hand delivered and planted for me! Will order again in the future.

I am so happy with the service and quality of the water lilies I ordered from Texas Waterlilies. I wasn't sure of which varieties to order so I called them and they were so helpful. Then when the plants arrived in only two days, they were large and healthy. Some of them bloomed the very next day. I will certainly order from them again.

I wish there was an "ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE" rating I could leave as feedback. Tommy, Dusty and Jesse were fantastic to deal with. Texas is famous for hospitality and now I know why.
I wanted plants for my class and they responded with vigorous beautiful water lilies, lotus tubers & seeds, photos and growing instructions. The plants were shipped with a phytosanitary inspection certificate to Hawaii and arrived in 2 days. On the day they arrived, all plants were potted immediately, some lilies bloomed the next morning to my astonishment. One tuber even has a leaf sticking out of the water after 3 days.
The customer service was excellent; above and beyond any expectations. Would heartily recommend this company anytime to anyone. Will come to them again for plants and supplies; they are honest, and very easy to do business with.
