I went through the catalog and found many interesting and uncommon offerings. I ordered 22 little plants. Three days later all of the plants that I ordered arrived. All were in excellent condition. The plants were small starts and were very well worth what I paid for them, and shipping costs were reasonable. I will definitely order from them again.

This is the first time I've ordered from Thistledown, and won't be the last.

I ordered 4 succulents, 11/11/10 and received order today, 11/15/10. Very fast shipping.

Sux ordered are:

Portulacaria Afra Variegata.
Kalanchoe 'Nova'
Euphorbia Milii 'Dang Udom' variegated
Echeveria nodulosa 'Painted Lady.'

Succulents are beautiful, healthy and pest-free.
Variegation is vivid, especially the E. milii. I've never seen a Milii with these colors. Very rare.
The Echervia is adorable. I order from various nurseries, and never received an Echeveria this tall and wide.

Thistledown even has a section on their online catalog called 'Desert Nymphs.' They're smaller plants, but not too small, for 2.50 each. My Afra was purchased as a's about 5" tall, deeply variegated.

Plants were securely wrapped, and as I stated above, shipping was fast.
PS. They even sent a gift plant! Thanks, Toni

I placed a second order with Thistledown Monday, received plants Wed. Talk about fast shipping.

Their plants are gorgeous, healthy specimens. Prices are more than reasonable, especially considering size.

John is helpful and honest. I overpaid shipping. He was kind enough to email and refund the overcharge to Paypal.
He also wrote about one succulent, offering advice. This is something no other nursery-person has ever done.

I'm so happy I found Thistledown. I plan on ordering more in the future. Toni

I'm so happy I came across Thistledown last year while browsing for succulents.

Placed my first order of the year, 2011. Received several succulent varieties.
Euphorbias, Echeverias, Ceropegias, Portulacarias, Kalanchoes, Crassulas, Cotyledons.

Are are in good health, with vivid colors. Although all plants are gorgeous, one of my favorites is E. millii, 'Dang Udom.'
I bought this Euphorb in 2010, liked it so much I ordered a second. Colors are lovely, even nicer than E. Candycane.

Plants are well-packed, shipping fast. Thanks, Toni

Placed a second order at Thistledown, 2011.

I reordered a few of the same succulents because they're so gorgeous, I want to experiment growing some in dish gardens and others in separate containers.

Cotyledon tomentosa..(fuzzy, white variegated form) Nymph. This beauty will be placed in a dish garden.

Crassula pellucida marginata, variegata. This plant was also purchased as a Nymph. Haven't decided whether or not C. pellucida will do well in a dish garden or not.

Kalanchoe 'nova.' A kalanchoe beauty. A mature plant..

Euphorbia nerifolia variegata. I purchased this Euphorbia the very first time I found Thistledown. In one year's time, it's grown into a gorgeous variegated specimen. I've never seen it sold elsewhere.

Echeveria nodulosa, 'Painted Lady.' This Echeveria is so colorful, I ordered two. Anyone who collect Echeverias must get a nodulosa. Colors are very pronounced.

As a bonus, I was sent a thornless, E. Crown of Thorns. Never had a thornless before, so it'll be a new experience. It's young but already in bloom.

Plants were securely wrapped, shipping prompt. Emails are answered fast.

Prices at Thistledown can't be beat, and shipping is very reasonable. No hidden fees.

Thanks Thistledown, for the lovely plants and a gift to boot, Toni

Firist order from Sumptuous Succulents/Thistledown since they relocated.

Order consists:

Echeveria 'Mona Loa' Full head of leaves. Very healthy, well-rooted.

Kalanchoe Orgialis

Bonus Plant, Ledebouria 'Miner' I was very surprised with this Ledebouria species. It's a small plant, w/a fairly large caudex, large for plant. So cute.

Each plant is good size, well-rooted, perfect foliage and in healthy.

Lori and John are the best. Very helpful, honest, good people.

Shipping rates are more than fair. Plants are always securely-wrapped. Fast-Shipping.

5* Nursery. Thanks, Toni

I purchased many fabulous plants from Thistledown when they were located in Bonduel, WI. This was my first on-line ordering experience with them.
Awesome service! Prompt correspondence and shipping!
I purchased two unique varieties of Euphorbia Milii (Christmas Light and Thai Hybrid) - both healthy and beautiful. A free plant was also included.
I miss your local business - but glad to still have access to your special greenhouse!
