I've made two visits to this one-person micro-boutique nursery. Both times I enjoyed talking with Ed Bowen, the owner and general factotum, and came away with some interesting (and well grown) rare plants. This is not a general nursery, more of a nursery for plant nerds and plantspeople with sophisticated tastes. Ed does some hybridizing and some contract growing, and grows the plants he likes---rare ones and mostly not the most easily salable ones. I happen to live within driving distance, so I made appointments to visit, but Ed also sells by mail order.
