Was very pleased with the performance of the annuals seeds directly sowed into my garden last year. They had a great germination rate, which resulted in so many beautiful poppies, so of course I ordered seeds from them again this year. I received my order once again in a timely manner. I was so glad to see that they offer Wall Flower seeds which after having seen the blooms at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden looked high and low for.

These plants have been so lively and hardy in my garden. They grew brilliantly all summer long with little work from myself. I even have recommended them to all my friends and family!

Select Seeds went above and beyond this year for me; when I submitted my order, I mentioned that I had hoped to order some seeds from the previous year's catalog, which were not listed in the 2012 catalog. They sent me all the seeds I had hoped to buy as bonus packets! Granted, they were last year's seeds, but I appreciate their efforts. Most of the following seeds that I ordered are blooming now in my garden; the rest are growing fine and will bloom later: "ruby moon" hyacinth bean, "Dawn Chorus" shirley poppy, "mother of pearl" shirley poppy, "magic roundabout" sunflower, "spring sparkle" Virginia stock, "Super Yoga Rose" zinnia, and "appleblossom chiffon" CA poppy.

I searched the entire State of Minnesota for Big Blue Sea Holly plants but not to be found. Select Seeds had the plants and shipped them right away. They arrived two days later packed beautifully with soil still damp. Plants are thriving. Plus the price was reasonable.

Emails about this order and the timingN of arrival were prompt and informative. The plants arrived as requested and were in very health robust condition. Packing is the best I have seen and I order frequently from nurseries. Carefully packed in holders to they would not move in the box or get broken each plant was topped with spagnum moss to keep it moist during shipment.

I have not yet ordered seeds from them, but the plants I ordered were very healthy and packed so smartly that it looked like the work of an engineer. They have plants that you won't find anywhere else, and they are particularly strong in Salvias, which are my favorites. The Rudbeckia laciniata 'Golden Glow' is an old, old plant that I have not seen offered by any other vendor. This is a five star company. *****.

I started ordering from Select Seeds a few years ago because of the unusual selection of seeds and plants that they offer. I now look forward to the arrival of their catalogue every year in the dead of winter here in Washington, D.C. I make my selections, place my order with the preferred and appropriate delivery dates worked out with them. My order has just arrived (mid-April) and I'm thrilled with the quality and condition of the merchandise once again. I've ordered live plants from them and each time it's wonderful to see the care and effort made to pack everything so as to avoid as much damage as possible. They make sure that the plants are given enough moisture for their trip and this year someone took the time to wet newspaper, ball it up, and pack it so gently and carefully around the base of the stems that the plants all arrived well watered. And even with the damage that can be expected with mail deliveries, it's always a pleasant surprise to see the plants with only 1 or 2 bruised or crushed leaves which aren't detrimental to the plants at all. Our local garden centers could learn a lesson from Select Seeds and their customer service. I'm hooked.

I had a tremendous experience with Select Seeds. They just donated 500 seed packets to a children's Farm Day. My initial request had gotten misplaced but a rep called my house, asked if our need had been met and then personally ensured that free seeds had been delivered on a rush notice.

Last spring, I bought several potted flowering annuals that Select Seeds had donated to the Union Free Public Library for a fundraising event. I can unequivocally say that those plants were the healthiest I have bought to date. They all thrived in my garden and flowered through the first frost. The ones I kept in pots and brought inside the house - as recommended by the Select Seeds friendly staff - were flowering all through the Christmas Holidays: what a bonus! They are now overwintering in the basement and I eagerly look forward to taking them outside in the spring for another flower-filled year. Thank you, Select Seeds!

This was my first time ordering from Select Seeds, and it was out of desperation as the normal companies I order from were out of the annuals and herbs I had been wanting very much. Even though I ordered later into the growing season (after my early Jan. orders had already been shipped) they still had everything in stock and it was processed and mailed in just over a week. Germination rates have been excellent, and the seedlings look beautiful and are now just waiting for the danger of frost to pass. There are a few more varieties that are waiting to be direct-sown and I'm looking forward to seeing how they fare, though I honestly have no worries.

Just want to add that I think it's foolish of someone, (badger1), to place a negative comment for this company based on missed catalogues. I love getting my catalogues, (although the multiples from one company are crazy), but I certainly wouldn't knock a company if they forgot to send one.

Placed a small order in February for flower seeds, including Rainmaster petunia, because I understand it is still one of the last fragrant petunias. Planted the seeds right away and have had excellent germination. To me, germination is the best test of a seed company. Will order from Select Seeds again.

Random cat. came in 2008; photo & price perfect. (Along w/scores of other cats. that all gardeners rec.) I was #1 grateful that they were from NE where I'm some north of them. So a tidy order came well pkged right date; all plants growing like "weeds". 09, a bigger order, same in 2010. More for 2011; I'm so excited. No wonder they are listed 5th in Dave's Garden. '09, got 6 of the most healthy but tiny yellow hollyhocks, that bloomed as 6 ft. queens for wks. in 2010, guaranteed no rusty bottoms; and they don't have.
