DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE These people sell items that they don't have in stock and have no idea when they will have it in stock. They then hope that you will forget about your order so they can keep your money or they give you a hard time about canceling your order and getting a full refund. When you talk to them on the phone they tend to get very rude and arrogant, even after you speak with a supervisor.

Although they shipped my order promptly, I received the wrong part. There are two series of parts associated with my model number, but all the people at Outdoor Distributors I talked with kept saying was "it should work." The manager even said she spoke with the manufacturer and, again, stated "it should work." The two parts were very different. I even sent pictures comparing the two. I finally got the number for the manufacturer from them, called myself, and they immediately gave me the correct part number. I have my doubts about whether or not they truly spoke with the manufacturer. Outdoor distributors refused to cover shipping either way to return the item. I'm very disgusted with them.

I ordered 1 part for my shop to see if it compares with the distributers that I deal with. The price was the same as my other distributers, but the confirmation was fast so I thought I had another place to shop. I recieved my package in 4 days but instead of 1 part for $23 like my order had stated they sent me 5 of the same thing and charged my card for over $74. When I tried to call about the problem all phone lines are either busy or not working. If I ran my shop like they do I would be out of business in a week. In my opinion this is not a company to buy from. I would like to resolve this with them but they have not tried to contact me.

After day 9s threat to cancel was told on day 10 parts on backorder from factory with release date. Day after release date called and was told no release date...told them to ship what they had (mentioned ON the order). Waited two more days...they called...missing a part they had in stock. Told them ship what they had....no contact since. Canceling order and will fight it out with Visa if I have to.

Wish I found this site prior to ordering. Placed order Sept 1 for $50 lawn mower parts. Credit card was charged the next day. After several weeks I called, and after being on hold for several minutes was told order would ship end of week. After a few more weeks of no delivery and no word I called again and told it was being drop shipped that week. A few weeks later still no parts and a call get the same treatment and told there were vendor issues and it will ship. If no delivery by end of week I will cancel & dispute charges.

On March 8th, 2010, ssmith39 added the following:

I waited until the end of the week and and still no parts. I was done fooling around with this place. I called and canceled the order and told it will take 10-15 business days to credit.

Because of the way they jerked me around I knew it would be an uphill battle to get my refund. I immediately called my credit card company to let them know the situation and that I planned to dispute the charges if a refund was not issued in a timely manner.

After waiting 20 days I was not surprised to find no credit issued. I contacted the credit card provider again and lodged a dispute. I was notified a week or so ago that they have refunded all my $$ after investigating the dispute.

I too wish I had seen this site before ordering from Outdoor Distributors. Maybe if they would take care of business instead of running over beer cans with lawn mowers we wouldn't be doing this. Anyway, I paid with PayPal ($21.00) and filed a complaint with PayPal when I didn't receive my credit. PayPal followed up and issued a refund from Outdoor Distributors to my PayPal acct. However - the refund did not clear their bank and therefore PayPal suspended Outdoor Distributors account. I don't give up easy, so I filed a claim with the BBB as well. I also found Outdoor Distributors on Facebook, requested to be added to their "Friends" and then posted the question "Is Outdoor Distributors" still in business?" they replied yes still strong after 6 years. I then publicly responded with another question..." why won't you reply to my e-mails regarding non-shipment of product" I was given a phone number to call - That happens Dec 30th.

We will see what happens. I'm wondering if all the vendors on their web site know of their business practices.... Hmmmm might be worth looking into and enlightening the vendors.

On December 30th, 2009, dumbdog added the following:

I contacted OD-D on Dec30th offering substitution for the items they did not ship. They no longer carry the product lines I asked for and haven't for sometime. I asked about the Paypal refund and was told someone else called this morning asking the same question. Then she offered to refund my order PLUS 20% once they get a new credit card processor. I asked why they still adevertise credit cards on their website, she pause then said the vendors process the cards directly when Items are ordered, they make no money of those sales. Yea right.
I contacted the AL attorney general - guess what, they know who outdoor distributors is and are familiar with them. I filed an on-line complaint. I think I will also contact the web host company and let them know about the practices.

The wheels I received had the number that the website showed as being the correct ones for my mower, but they did not fit, i.e., my mower's axle was bigger than the hole in the wheel. I waited for the credit to show up on my credit card statement: it did not. So, I called and April told me that the wheels had been received, and the credit put on the desk of the person who issued the credits, but that she would put another credit on her desk. The next month's credit card bill came in, but no credit. I sent them an email stating that if the credit wasn't issued I would file a Small Claims Court suit. The next month's credit card bill has now come in, but still no credit. It has now been 3 months since the RMA was issued and no credit. I am on my way to the Small Claims Court to get the necessary forms to file the suit. I should have checked the reviews on this outfit before I ordered.

Have been told several times that it's shipped but when asked for UPS tracking number or similar am told none exists! This bit seems fantasy to me. Have also emailed and faxed management (if they actually have any) without response. Terrible experience and have now put the matter in the hands of the credit card company. After a short internet search I found the same parts on Amazon for the same price so I called back to cancel my order. After waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I was told by Stephanie that it was no problem and that my PayPal account would be credited immediately. I asked her again if the credit would be issued right away and she said yes. The next day, after not receiving my PayPal credit, I called back. This time I was on hold for about 25 minutes. Finally my call was taken (Stephanie again). After looking up my order information, she came back and informed me that it takes up to 12 or 15 days before credits can be issued. Now my money will be tied up for over a month if I get it back at all. Fortunately I used PayPal so at least I have an avenue for dispute.Amazon showed my parts in stock and will ship in 1 or 2 days.

In my opinion this company should not be allowed to continue to take advantage of genuine customers and to tarnish the reputation of respectable companies that offer a proper customer support service.

The person answering the phone said "Hold Please." at which point I stated that I had already held for 8 minutes. She promptly corrected me and told me that I was only on hold for 7 minutes and 48 seconds. At this point, I am very irritated and ask to speak to the manager. She tells me that she is the manager and I will have to hold for ten minutes. When someone finally comes on the line, he informs me that they don't even have the part and have no idea when they will receive it. When I ask about the previous call, he doesn't know what I am talking about. When I ask for the order to be cancelled, he says it will be at least 10 days to get my credit.
When I ask to speak to the manager a lady gets on the line. I tell her the story of my experience today and she tells me that she never spoke to me. At this point, its obvious that I am getting the run around, so I ask to speak to whoever is in charge of Outdoor Distributors. Surprise Surprise, no one is there.
I have to wonder if this is a scam to be able to charge your credit card for parts and then hold them money, using it to pay bills or for personal reasons, then shipping the product when the complaints are too much. I have just gone on line and researched the number of complaints against this company, and quiet a number of them say the exact same thing. It does not seem honest. Nor does it seem to be the way a company holding an "A" with the BBB should deal with customers.

On 7/22/09 I ordered some parts for a Briggs & Stratton tractor engine.
On 7/23 my credit card was charged $79 for the full order.
On 7/27 I sent an email inquiring about the order status and never received a reply.
On 8/4 I called and was told parts were on back order.
On 8/11 I called and was told parts were on allocation from B&S and should be in any day.
On 8/17 I called and was told parts still on back order. I cancelled the order and was told I would receive a credit card refund in 5-10 business days. I ordered the parts direct from Briggs & Stratton that day and 4 days later they arrived at my house.
As of 9/1 I hadn't received my refund yet so I called my credit card co. to dispute the charge. Meanwhile Outdoor Distributors has held the money for almost 6 weeks for an order which they never even shipped.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and avoid the same problem I experienced when doing business with Outdoor Distributors (www.outdoordistributors.com). The money you think you will save was in my opinion not worth the aggravation you may encounter.

On July 29, 2009 I placed an order online with Outdoor Distributors (also known as Landscape Power) for $87 worth of Craftsman lawn tractor parts and received an automated email acknowledgement shortly after.

On August 9, an email I sent to check on my overdue order was unanswered.

On August 11, I called Outdoor Distributors and after a lengthy hold-time, was told a part was on backorder. No information on which part was backordered or when it would arrive.

On August 14, my credit card was charged by Outdoor Distributors.

On August 18, I called again and, after a lengthy hold-time, was misinformed that my part was due to arrive on August 20 and that my order would be sent out immediately upon its arrival.

On August 24, an email I sent to confirm that the order had shipped was unanswered.

On August 26, I called again and, after a 20 minute hold time, was told that Outdoor Distributors “switched suppliers” and my part would arrive in 2-3 days. That is odd since on August 18 I was told that the part would be in August 20. I cancelled the order and am pursuing reversal of credit card charges.

Summary: Based on my experience with Outdoor Distributors regarding ignored emails, misinformation by representatives, credit card charges prior to shipping and lengthy call hold-times, Outdoor Distributors are not worth the aggravation in relationship to the amount of money saved over "retail".

As of September 9, Outdoor Distributors ignored my verbal and emailed request on August 26 to post a credit for unsent merchandise and significant delays. I was told a credit would appear in 7 business days.

I already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the State of Alabama Attorney General's Office.

If you have been mistreated by Outdoor Distributors, please take a minute and file complaints with the BBB and Alabama Attorney General's Office to help others avoid these problems.

I made one order from Outdoor Distributors, and although it took a long time to have it filled, I had no complaints, until now.

On August 4, 2009 I placed a credit card order online with Outdoor Distributors for 4 parts totaling $58.00. According to their website, customers were advised not to check on the status of their order until after 10 working days had passed as this could delay the processing of the order.

On August 18, 2009, I called their customer service line (1-877-707-2787) to check on the status. This was 11 working days after I’d placed my order. I was told that their computer had been down for a couple of days and that the order could not be processed from their warehouse. I was assured by their customer service representative that my order would be filled no later than Friday, August 21 and shipped on Monday, August 24. I was told that I would receive a shipping confirmation via e-mail with a tracking number on the 24th.

On August 21, 2009 Outdoor Distributors billed the credit card for the cost of the order.

On August 24, 2009 the information pertaining to my order had not been provided as promised by the Outdoor Distributors customer service representative.

On August 25, 2009 I called their customer service number again to determine the status of my order and to find out why the order confirmation and tracking number had not been provided to me as promised. At this time, the story explaining the delay changed. I was told by the Outdoor Distributors customer service representative that the part had not yet been shipped by their distributor and that Outdoor Distributors should receive it “in a few days.” Once Outdoor Distributors received it they would in turn ship them to me.

After 22 days of waiting, I’ve been told 2 different stories, have received no parts and am out of patience. I immediately cancelled the order and requested a full refund to the credit card.

Had I been wiser, I would have checked with the Better Business Bureau and various customer satisfaction websites prior to placing my order. Had I done so, I would have noted the numerous complaints and would have not done business with this company. I am writing this so that others will know of my experience with Outdoor Distributors prior to doing business with them.

I placed an order for a mower part with Outdoor Distributors on July 18th, 2009. I canceled my order on August 10th, 2009 because I still had not received it. I was told three times that my order was delayed because some server was down and my part would reach them on Thursday of that week. Then it would be shipped to me. I was told this 3 weeks in a row. That Thursday never came. I was told that I would have my money refunded in 5 days when I canceled on August 10th.When I called back in 5 days, because I had not received it I was told it takes 10 days for a refund. On August 24th (10 days now)I called again and I was told it takes about 15 days to get a refund (see a pattern here). It only took 2 days for them to take the money from me. I have not got my money back yet . I will not do business with them again.
I am also going to file a claim with the BBB and the Attorney Generals office in Alabama
